LTDuo performs music that is a convergence of their diverse musical styles with a focus on Contemporary Jazz, R&B and Latin and their Original Music.

BIOS

Louie Moon was born in Washington D.C. and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. At age 16, inspired at local performances by musical luminaries like Miles Davis, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Wes Montgomery, Stevie Wonder, BB King, Carlos Santana and Earth Wind and Fire, Louie began singing and playing guitar. At 18 he started performing professionally with bands and by the age of 20 was touring internationally.

Louie began his formal study of music in the Bay Area with local legends Ed Kelly, Bob King and Elvo D'Amante. Within a short time the Hollywood music scene called and he moved to Los Angeles to study guitar, music theory and composition with GOATs like Pat Martino and Joe Diorio at Guitar Institute of Technology (now Musicians Institute) in Hollywood CA.

Soon after graduating from MI, Louie toured Brazil as band leader for Eartha Kitt. Numerous recording sessions, club gigs, national and international tours followed, with artists and bands including the Thomi / Moon Project and Louie Moon and Mankind Band.

Returning to the San Francisco Bay Area, Louie studied and graduated from the Audio Engineering program at Los Medanos College, and was recruited by the sound design team for Danger Productions on the ABC network television production “Bump In The Night”.

Louie Moon's musical styles draw from a savory brew of Jazz, R&B, Funk and Latin flavors that impact and influence his compositions, guitar playing and vocal performance.

Both Louie and Tim are founding members of the SF Bay Area based Contemporary Jazz band Fourum.

Original compositions are featured on his CD "Round Midnight" Louie Moon (2005) available on CD Baby and iTunes.

Louie Moon plays and is an Ambassador/ Artist for Benedetto Guitars.

Tim Leong's musical journey is a testament to his adaptability and passion for the craft. Growing up in San Francisco, a city known for its vibrant music scene, provided Tim with a rich tapestry of cultural and musical influences. His early exposure to the Beatles, particularly the left-handed bass playing of Paul McCartney, not only sparked his interest in music but also shaped his initial approach to playing the electric bass guitar.

Despite the challenge of switching to play bass right-handed and being predominantly self-taught, this decision likely broadened his abilities and opportunities in the music world. This change, while difficult, helped drive his desire to master his instrument and share his musical gift.

Tim's extensive experience across a range of genres—from jazz and blues to soul and rock—has given him the foundation to be a “working” bass player, to refine his unique playing style that resonates with both fellow musicians and audiences alike. He enjoys collaborating closely with drummers to lay down the rhythmic foundation of a band and creating that essential “groove” that makes every song unique.

In addition to Fourum and LTDuo, Tim continues to perform with the GTS Band and Blind to Reason; each requiring the ability to master different playing styles and challenges.

Tim continues to be inspired by world-class bass players including Marcus Miller, Nathan East, and Victor Wooten, who are in demand both for their musicality but also their ability to showcase the bass guitar as a lead instrument. He also credits the "diverse family of musicians" he has played with over the years for the wonderful experiences that have allowed him to continue enriching his musical career.

After years working in communications and public relations in the public, private and non-profit world, Tim now applies his formal education and work experience to his musical endeavors.

For anyone following Tim's musical career, his story is an example of how versatility and openness to diverse experiences can enrich a musician's repertoire and professional journey.
